There is a lot of mistaken identity involved in the whole pitbull as killers sterotype. Many people can't tell any of the bully breeds apart so they just lump them altogether and call them pit bulls.

It always comes down to the owner. A pit bull with a bad owner or worse a thug of an owner is like a loaded gun. A pit bull with a good owner is a great dog.

Pit bulls are amazing dogs. I fought my husband tooth and nail when he said he wanted to get a pit. I was completely against it. But I finally gave in and I couldn't be happier that I did. Our pit bull is wonderful. I've had many dogs in my life and he is up there with the best of them.

We also have a retriever and 2 cats in addition to our 3 children. Without a doubt, I trust our pit bull around the cats and kids much more than I do our retriever. He is so calm and loving with them whereas the retriever is the one with the temper.

And as far as walks, I can't even take my retriever on walks because he drags me down the road and practically rips my arms off. But I wouldn't even have to put our pit bull on a leash if I didn't want to, he stays right beside me and doesn't pull at all.

Anyway, I just wanted to share a little of my story with this great breed. Thank you for creating this resource to help dispel the myths.
